Several families got custom graduation artwork done this year and that was quite exciting to be part of their history.

I did a 8th Graduation Boat event- the kids got to take home a t-shirt with them. They were so excited to get them it made me feel real good. setuponboatboatdance

I airbrushed at a Freshman Orientation and they brought in their own t-shirts to be done. That was fun and the kids enjoyed it as well. I was so busy I didn’t take any pics to share.

20 Years of Airbrushing Part 3

Posted by admin | Posted in Mr. Airbrush Hands Business, Ron Allen Jr | Posted on 13-04-2011

After never stopping in the slow times and being from the culture I was from I was back on it but things were very different then when I started into airbrushing. Now I have a family and I’m not a youngster anymore plus working full-time at another job. I was in the Bay Area working out of my garage and word of mouth was working for me. We lived near Richmond, Ca and my popularity spread like wildfire with the teenagers.

Most would come to my home and I was still very professional. When they would pull up with their music blasting I would ask them to turn it down and all of them respected that. This was my community and I wanted to respect my neighbors. It would start out with one kid and then he would tell a friend who then would tell his family and that’s how my business grew.

My wife, Pam, made it a point to be very supportive every step of the way. She would help me prepare when I would set up at events and if she could she would be right there by my side taking orders. Allowing me the time to focus on the painting. She also set me up with my own website (this one of course), a Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/mrairbrushhands), and I’m on Twitter (@mrairbrushhands) so she has hit a lot of social media outlets. We are working on bigger and better social interaction this year so look forward to that. She has incorporated my skills as an artist and has brought the last 20 years full circle.

To bring it all into conclusion, my god-given talent should reflect my consistency and growth as a business and a brand. The endurance and hard work that is now working for me after so many years however I still put forth the same effort today as I did with my first project. I often reflect on this path of all the people I’ve met and the business relationships I’ve developed is where the worth is to me. Now to see my kids to aspire to what I do reaffirms the staying power of this journey! I started 20 years ago and will be going for sure another 20!
